When it comes to retirement homes, there are apartments, mobile home parks, private residences and senior centers. While there are a number of different options for senior housing, those desiring to live, or near the city of Seal Beach, CA have some of the best options available when it comes to retirement homes in Leisure World Seal Beach. For example, this particular community hosts a lot of pros compared to the number of cons which come attached to many others all over the world.

According to one review, the place is quite well ran. In fact, the community within the town is almost a small town of its own, a town in which neighbors are friendly and connected. Something most do not find in other senior communities housed in mobile home parks or senior centers.

As this particular complex offers a great deal of social activities in a group atmosphere, many residents find the ability to maintain both a private and social life while living in Leisure World. A title which lives up to its name according to many past and present residents. Although, with the local homeowner's association's rules and regulations related to gardening, pets and other issues, it may not be the right environment for all seniors.

When it comes to convenience, there are two transit systems, an on-site credit union, library and medical clinic. With service to the nearby town of Seal Beach, CA, a shopping center and a number of discount grocery and other stores, it is fairly easy to live in the area using only public transit. There are also services to Long Beach and Los Alamitos along with several other small towns and communities in the vicinity of Orange County.

When feeling like staying in, the library offers a multitude of first run movies and older titles free of charge for two days. Items rented and returned after two days are subject to a dollar per day late fee. Although, when the library is located at home, this rarely becomes a problem.

While the local Homeowner's Association may be somewhat slow to move forward with new technology, accepting only cash or money orders for payment, there is an on-site credit union available for those who prefer to bank locally. Other features include a six club rooms which can be rented for private events.

While most people tend to shy away from properties which house a Homeowners Association, the one provided in this particular complex often receives rave reviews from the city, residents and visitors. Something that is especially true when it comes to seniors who often have to pay thousands per year in property tax versus a few hundred out of annual homeowner fees. Whether its for the many features, security or low cost fees, this particular association seems to have the know how to run a senior complex quite efficiently.

Individuals interested in learning more about senior life in this area only need look as far as the Leisure World Wikipedia home page. A page which provides a great deal of history about the community from its inception in the late 1960s to present. After which, each individual must decide whether or not whether this is a place one might like to call home.
