ADHD In Children Common To A Childs Normal Behavior

By David Stone

The behavior of child changes according to the occasion. Changes are just natural unless they are motivated by a disorder referred to ADHD in children. In full its called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder and affects the behavior of a child. Nowadays, a high number of school-aged children get diagnosed with it.

Its a normal thing for children to sometimes forget their homeworks, daydream while in classes and act without thinking. Signs of ADHD are impulsivity, inattention and hyperactivity. It affects the ability of the child to learn and get along with others. For one to address this problem, first thing you do is recognize the signs and symptoms.

Most have seen kids, who cannot sit down and be at ease, when instructed they cannot adhere, while others yell out unsuitable words. People may not understand and will consider the kids to be troublemakers, give negative criticism for being not aware of the disorder the child is suffering from.

Before a child is seven years old, that is when these signs and symptoms tend to appear. However, differentiating between the childs normal behaviors to that of the disorder is not easy. Probably its this ailment affecting them when you see the following symptoms and signs when you observe behavior change in school, at home and while playing. They start being forgetful and inattentive.

The affected seem to pay attention to topics they love but become inattentive to those seeming repetitive and boring according to them. Affected children are to move from task to task leaving all unfinished. They go through difficulties when trying to put in order school works a thing most kids do not. For them to focus fully, they need a quiet and calm place as it is difficult for them to do it in noisy surroundings.

The most common sign is hyperactivity. Almost every kid is naturally quite active. For kids facing this, they always are on the move. Most will try to do several things at once. Even if they are forced to sit still, they find it difficult for them as their feet keep tapping, their legs shaking, and their fingers may be drumming. They will be seen leave their seats when they are expected not to, talking excessively and they also have quick temper.

Impulsivity is another sign and indication. Children suffering from this disorder are found to cut themselves from others, interrupt conversations, invading peoples privacy, ask unrelated and personal queries, reacting with no reasoning, shouting an answer even if they are not asked to and will rush to guess instead of enough time to think.

ADHD is said to be a curable disorder. On the positive, children suffering from it tend to be very creative and imaginative; they are flexible because they consider a lot of options at once, they have enthusiasm as they are rarely boring thus having a lively personality and they have energy and drive by staying motivated working and playing hard. Its important to know that ADD has nothing to do with intelligence or talent.
