Stay Warmer By Installing Secondary Double Glazing Sash Windows

By Jamie R King

When you own a home one of the most important aspects you will have to take into account will be the window panes in the house. If you live in an older house you will find that installing secondary double glazing sash windows will make a big difference. It will keep the cold out and the warmth in where it belongs.

Double glaze application is the more expensive option. These are custom designed for each specific window. It takes about six weeks for them to be made and probably about three days to be installed. One of the reasons it is so popular is that it also provides excellent sound insulation.

Open-able panels can be either side hung casement, horizontal or vertical sliding sashes. These make it possible to get to the outside window to clean them. Letting fresh air in is made easier by being able to open it and let fresh air in.

One of the main reasons a homeowner would want to have a second glaze, would be to cut out heat loss. Everyone is looking for ways to cut costs these days. By having a second one fitted to existing ones, the heating bill would be quite a bit less at the end of the month.

Traditional timber and metal ones can almost always be repaired. Even when they are in a sad state of repair they can be fixed for a lot less than what it will cost to replace them. The timber used in the past to make windows was of high quality and very durable.

Single glaze is a poor thermal insulator. The glass is the most likely place that heat will be transmitted but heat can also be lost through the window frame. Secondary double glazing sash windows seem to be the answer to keeping heat in and cold out.
