Curtains For Nursery And Baby Room Rugs

By Darren Hartley

Choosing the right fabric for the curtains for nursery will give the room the perfect finishing touch. There are important things to consider in choosing nursery curtains despite the fact that their selection seem to be a simple matter. Color is of prime importance when it comes to the nursery curtain selection.

Parents opt for room darkening blinds and dark colors for the curtains for nursery, during the first six weeks because during this period the baby does nothing much more than sleep all the time. They transition to curtains with lighter colors including lighter pinks and sky blue, when the baby reaches six months, a period when a baby lies awake more often.

Another focal point in the selection of the curtains for nursery is the material from which they were made. The windows can be given fantastic treatments biy its adornment with cotton, silk and netted curtains. For families living in a cold climate, thicker material would be the more suitable option. They prevent cold drafts from piercing through the windows, particularly during the colder winter months and of course, they give the nursery a warm atmosphere throughout the day, which is a definite plus to the baby's comfort.

Adding baby room rugs can add warmth, color and personality to the nursery. The evaluation of the room is a need in the choice of the best baby rugs. This evaluation involves a thought on what kind of rug will best suit the room, a measurement of the space to determine what rug size will fit the room properly and a consideration of the color scheme or decorating theme of the room.

The type of baby room rugs that will work best for the nursery has to be known first before any rug purchase is done. While a carpeted nursery would require only an addition of a few pieces of accent rugs, a nursery with hardwood or tile floors may require a large area rug to cover a major portion of the barren floor space.

The use of several small baby room rugs can be an alternative to the placement of one large area rug in the center of the nursery. While a half circle rug can be made to adorn the front of the changing table, a rectangular rug may be displayed in front of the crib. This keeps all sections of the nursery covered, literally and figuratively.
