Helpful Hints For End Of Lease Cleaning Brisbane Renters Have Used To Get Whole Refunds

By Jennifer Lee

When you move into a rented house or apartment you expect it to be immaculate. The landlord expects you to pay a security deposit that often equals a month's rent. When you get ready to move out, that same landlord expects to find the rental unit in the same immaculate condition. If it's not, you will have trouble getting some, or all, of your deposit back. The quality of the end of lease cleaning Brisbane renters do will determine whether or not the deposit is returned in whole.

There are jobs that can be done a couple weeks in advance, like having the carpets shampooed and the hardwoods polished. Some will argue that you will mess up the flooring by cleaning it early, but that doesn't have to be the case. You will need to be careful and walk around your house in bare feet or socks, but this is one project you can cross off your list at the start.

It is important to make sure the kitchen is spotless. The appliances and counter tops see a lot of use and can get dingy. You'll have to clean the oven, which can be a hassle unless you have a self-cleaning model. The chemical fumes of the oven cleaner can be overpowering. Instead of using a commercial cleaner, mixing baking soda and water will make a paste you can use.

You'll have to do more than just wipe out the bathroom sink, tub, and toilet if you want a full refund. Mineral deposits build up on shower doors. You can remove them with vinegar and baking soda. Filling a bag with vinegar and placing it over the shower head will have that fixture sparkling when you leave it overnight. If there is mold in the grout, it will come out by using bleach, water, and an old toothbrush.

Walls and floors get scuffed. You can remove the marks with a rag and sugar soap. If you have sliding doors and windows, be sure to vacuum out the tracks. You need to move and clean behind appliances, as you can. If an appliance is immovable, like the stove, get your vacuum attachment and clean under the appliance, so any dust is out of sight.

If you have balconies, patios, or yards, they have to be as immaculate as the interior of the house. Concrete can be cleaned with bleach, water, and a mop. Serious stains might need the additional attention of a scrub brush. If you have a yard, and are the one responsible for its maintenance, it has to be mowed, edged, and trimmed.

Moving is a headache, and it's tempting to just run a vacuum and dust mop and leave the rest of the cleaning to the management. If you do this, you will not get any deposit back, and you might have trouble finding another house to rent. If your previous landlord is called for a reference, you can be sure he will mention the state of house you left.

A lot of people prefer renting to owning property. They don't want the responsibility of insurance, repairs, and upgrades. Making sure you leave the property the way you found it is a renter's responsibility.
