Using Steel Windows As Protection Against Others

By Cynthia Mitchell

The importance of having a home has been around since the beginning of man. Out of all the animals in the animal kingdom, humans have the most sophisticated habitats and environments. This stems from them lacking physical prowess when compared to other animals that are out in wild environments. Thus, man has made many things, to protect not only against wild, but from each other as well.

Thus, in the years that have passed, people have begun to make more and more stable and fortified homes. The buildings were made for the reason of wanting to create a safer space and environment without them having to worry about any sort of danger. These improvements led to New York Steel windows being created to make the panes stronger.

In the past, many homes had the widow feature built into them, like a door. But these kinds did not have any covers, just openings. This was because the thought of having one still has not passed the mind of man. The purpose of having one of this in a home was to get some fresh air inside during hot days and keep the rooms ventilated.

Modern houses have improvements over the old designs. Before the window was just an opening in a hole with no way of closing it, raising the risk factor. In modern times, this has been developed and fixed. More modern windows have a sheet material that goes over a frame to keep certain things out, like bugs and the cold winter air.

The first known civilization in history to use glass window were the Romans. The technology was most likely to be developed in the city of Alexandria, a Roman province back in 100 AD. In those days, the process of making glass was a well kept secret and many did not know how to create one from them.

Going east, the Asian countries have their own designs and styles. Countries like Japan and China that their unique covers that still persist today. There window covers were made of rice paper and since it was a material that could have been gotten easily, many homes had this version and some still have them until now.

Back to the west, European countries had their own developments. England homes had glass become a common thing in the 17th century. But the panes they had were still made of animal bones and horns that were used in the 14th century.

Western America had shown some adaption as well. During the 19th century, many homes have grease paper acting as their covers. This is because having a home that had glass windows was considered as a luxury to many.

The advancement of home safety has been a blessing to mankind. Many now can live happily with the thought that they are safe and sound inside the homes they have. Having great houses with good windows certainly help life be better.
