Bathroom Vent Fan And Bathroom Medicine Cabinets

By Darren Hartley

Why is a bathroom vent fan an important gadget in a bathroom? First and foremost, it removes warm, moist air from the bathroom and brings it out to the outdoors. Warm, moist air leads to the development of mold, other than carry the possibility of damage to the room. A bathroom vent fan also exhausts smelly air from the bathroom space.

Conveniences that come in a modern properly installed bathroom vent fan include light and heater options. The way to control the fan is through a single-pole switch or a timer mounted on the wall. Over the toilet or in the center of the room are some of the common bathroom spaces where it is placed. By making sure that its vent flapper is properly installed, you assure yourself that it will close when not in use.

What is the purpose of the flapper of a bathroom vent fan, you may ask? Well, it keeps the outdoor cold air from filtering back to the room. On the other hand, the insulation of the fan's flexible hose will keep the building up of condensation caused by the difference between the outer and inner air temperatures.

While both bathroom medicine cabinets and medicine boxes or chests are basically storage containers for medicine and hygienic products, bathroom medicine cabinets are, in general, pasted on the wall at eye-level height while medicine boxes or chests are free-standing and situated on the floor.

Bathroom medicine cabinets are also different from first aid boxes in the items they contain. While both may contain plasters, medicine cabinets contain ointments, pills and creams while first aid boxes contain bandages, tapes and dressings.

By storing only the most essential items in bathroom medicine cabinets, their organization is made simple and easy. All other items are then kept in a nearby drawer or under the sink. As far as the jars kept in the cabinet, they must always be kept clear so their contents are plainly visible and recognizable.

A problem may arise when talking about bathroom medicine cabinets shared by two people. What items each person is allowed to keep in the cabinet may be a cause for discussion and debate. However, to make a long story short, suffice it to say that each person can only keep items used on a daily basis in the cabinet.
